2 Little People Productions was founded in April 2006 by LyaNisha R. Gonzalez in the Jersey suburbs. The company's name comes from a term of endearment used for LyaNisha and her brother when they were young children, from her father. The idea of children playing fearlessly captures the spirit of the artist and that quintessential ideal that an artist must always exist in the moment. Like children.
Its first production was Fantasy, Girl for the 10th Annual FringeNYC Festival in August 2006.
Currently, the company is in the middle of producing its second show, Eggs and the Rebound Guy for this summer's FringeNYC Festival to be held August 8th-24th.
Under the artistic direction of LyaNisha Gonzalez, 2 Little People Productions will expand to include acting and writing classes, as well as a playwrighting contest to give up and coming artists a place to cultivate their work. It is the goal of 2 Little People Productions to foster the work of minority artists and allow their voices to be heard and told for the enjoyment of all audiences. And to prove that though every story is specific to a group or individual, the experience of that story is always universal.
